The northern aspect of Ben Nevis is revealed to its best in clear early morning light, which is often transient. I chose to capture this image of Ben Nevis in early April after an extremely long and cold winter with severe night frosts that continued to last until the end of the month. Just before sunrise there was thin cloud drifting across the summits of Ben Nevis and Carn Mor Dearg but it disappeared only a few minutes after to reveal this remarkably clear, cold and windless morning.
