High Street and Haweswater

This was a beautiful autumn morning and I had decided to visit High Street and Haweswater. I was recently returned from a trip to the Himalayas so was feeling very fit and decided to walk a traverse of Kirsty Pike and High Street ascending via Kirsty Howes and returning by Mardale Ill Bell and the Nan Bield Pass. Having made an early dawn start I was returning just before midday and captured this image looking into Riggindale at the head of the lake from Mardale Banks shortly after picking up the car to return home. It was no more than an un-planned and opportunist moment; I had not made any photographic plans, I had just ventured out for a morning's mountain walk and I was just lucky to be in the right place at the right time !!
