This ultra-wide panoramic print is one of a series of high quality images captured on the summit of Kala Pattar using one of several powerful professional film or digital cameras including the Fuji GX617 and the Nikon D850. It is probably considered to the classic view of the mountain and its satellites in this, a landscape format.

All of the well-known and most significant features are visible including, from left to right, the Lho La Saddle with part of Changtse the north peak of Everest beyond, the West Shoulder of Everest, the main summit of Everest above the South-West Face, The South Col, Lhotse Peak and finally the magnificent spire of Nuptse. In the foreground, sweeping from left to right across the picture is the Khumbu Ice Fall and Glacier which leads down to and beside the sandy flats and frozen lake at Gorak Shep, the location of my base camp on this particular photographic expedition. It also extends down the Khumbu Glacier to include other peaks of the region including Ama Dablam, Kangtaiga, Thamserku and Taweche.
