Gasherbrum 4 is a peak in the Gasherbrum group in the Baltoro region of the Karakoram Himalaya in Pakistan. Its immense West Face looms over the glacial junction of Concordia at the head of the Baltoro Glacier. The Name "Gasherbrum" is often claimed to mean "Shining Wall", presumably a reference to the tendency of the West Face to reflect the rays of the setting sun Despite its lower height relative to the surrounding four 8,000 metre peaks, including K2, Gasherbrum 4 is a venerated challenge among mountaineers.
