There are several excellent viewpoints of this handsome if diminutive mountain of Stac Pollaidh but, despite having captured very acceptable images from Loch Lurgainn and Lochan an Ais, I find this one the most compositionally appealing of all. Passing swiftly on the road north from Ullapool it is very easy to miss this little Loch Cul Dromannan as it is now almost totally surrounded by invasive undergrowth. This was one of those perfect February mornings when everything was calm and there was an image to capture on almost every turn in the road. The perfect reflection was achieved with the aid of a thin veil of ice that prevailed on the shallow water until midday.
