Dhaulagiri is the sixth highest mountain in the world and is certainly seen at its best across the Kali Ghandaki Valley. From the summit of Poon Hill just south of Ghorapani in the neighbouring Annapurna Himalaya the great south east face of Dhaulagiri dominates the skyline to the west; it is a dramatic view that is enhanced by the steepness of the face rising up across the deep defile that is the Kali Ghandaki Valley.
