The magnificent north-west face of Ama Dablam is seen to perfection and in great detail from the Sherpa village of Khumjung. This is a very recent image taken on my last trip to the Khumbu Region of Nepal during which I used the Nikon D850 camera. The detail in this image is stunning, and draws particular attention to the slowly receding nature of 'The Dablam' which is the hanging glacier high up on the face. This feature is now much smaller than when I first captured images of Ama Dablam nearly 40 years ago. 'Dablam' means 'necklace', and in Sherpa the name Ama Dablam is translated as 'Mother's Necklace'.
